Martin Konrad Gloeckle
German-born Martin Konrad Gloeckle is an award-winning product and furniture designer based in New York.
His work is characterized by a combination of innovative design thinking, considered utility, and a refined and minimalist design sense to create unique, iconic, and long-lasting product experiences.
Martin studied Industrial Design at the Pratt Institute in New York and Furniture Design at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen. International recognition of his work started while still a student with production of his Bendino lamp, a runner-up selection at the Design-Within-Reach Young Designer award, and features in New York Magazine and several design publications. This since continued with a Best-Of-Show award at Design-Within-Reachís modern+design+function event, features in major design publications like Frame and Dwell magazine and several books, and selection for exhibitions like Bergdorf-Goodmanís ICFF anniversary in New York and the Yves Behar curated technoCRAFT in San Francisco.
Martin has taught design at the Pratt Institute, has worked with leading designers like Ron Gilad and Stephen Burks, and most recently was as a key member in launching the new design-centered office supplies company Poppin. After living and working in Shanghai/China for close to one year, he returned to New York in 2011 to establish his own studio.
